Internal Peace

I'm laying on a log in the forest,

Closing my eyes and listening,

Listening to every little detail.

I hear no planes, no cars, or trains.

I do not hear mowers, or boats, or even people.

No people, no yelling, no sorrow, nor even laughter.

Then the silence shattered,

A bird flew by, and then another, and another.

By then the whole forest was alive,

Birds chirping, bees buzzing, and the wind howling.

The wind started to become a nice breeze,

slowly hitting the leaves of the trees and bushes,

creating a music like no other.

Then the wind picked up again,

moving the clouds out of sight,

letting the sun's rays warm the cool spring day.

I forgot all my problems,

and did not have a care in the world.

I was at peace, internal peace
